SEPTEMBER 26, 2026 FARNSWORTH BANKS DIVE TRIP
The Farnsworth Banks, which lies off the windward (Back) side of Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California is an exhilarating underwater adventure, and a local bucket list for Advanced and higher certified divers. Known for its vibrant marine life, crystal-clear waters, and unique underwater topography, this dive offers an opportunity to explore the Farnsworth Banks, a renowned dive site teeming with sea lions, colorful fish, and abundant kelp forests. Ideal for experienced certified advanced divers, the trip combines the thrill of deep-water diving with the beauty of marine ecosystems.
Riverside Scuba, will have dive professionals on board to assist all divers. This includes recently certified advance divers whom may have diving concerns.
Our dive professionals can also act as your dive buddy or guide to ensure you have an enjoyable diving experience. We can also pair solo divers with other divers. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new divers and refine your skills. Our dive professionals are dedicated to offering a mentorship experience where newer divers can learn from those with more experience.

- What's NOT included: tank, weights and diving gear
- Full rental gear is available for $45
- Boat Departure: 6:30 AM
- Boat Return to Dock: 4:00PM
CANCELLATION POLICY.
- Refunds requested 30 days or more before departure are eligible for a full refund minus a 5% processing fee.
- Requests made 15–30 days prior may be eligible for a credit transfer to a future trip.
- No refunds are available within 14 days of the trip date.
Riverside Scuba reserves the right to modify trip itineraries or cancel trips due to unforeseen circumstances. If a trip is canceled, you’ll receive a 100% credit toward a future trip.

32% Nitrox is strongly recommended for your first deep dive. Riverside Scuba has Nitrox rental tanks for $25.00. Reserve your Nitrox tank in advance.
WHAT TO BRING
- One FULL air or Nitrox tank. Check the air pressure before the trip to ensure it's full. Tanks are refilled with AIR only on the boat.
- All your regular SCUBA gear including weights. Lay everything out and use a checklist i.e. Wetsuit or Drysuitt, Boots, BCD, Regulator, Hood, Mask, Snorkel, Gloves, Fins, Safety Whisle, Surface Marker Buoy (SMB-DSMB), Anti-Fog, Cylinder, Weights, Primary and Back-up Dive Light, Camera, and anything else you dive with.
- Take motion sickness medication as directed if needed
- Hat
- Sunscreen
- C-Card
- Towel
- Log Book
- First Aid kit
- Save-A-Dive kit (O-rings, mask and fin strap, computer battery, etc)
- Tips. Most boat crews work for tips only and they split the tips. $20 is customary for a 3 tank trip per person.
- Riverside Scuba recommends you inform your spouse, relative or friend you are going diving to Farnsworth located at Catalina Island. Provide departure time 6:45AM and the name of the boat, which is the SoCal Divers Dive Boat location, which is docked at San Pedro, its scheduled destination dive site, which is Farnsworth Banks, Catalina Island and your scheduled return-to-dock time, approximatly 4:00PM.
