When was the last time you had your BCD inspected or serviced, per manufacture’s requirement? If you are not sure, have your life support systems inspected or serviced immediately before your next diving adventure.

Major overhaul service, which includes disassembly, cleaning, and replacement of all seats, seals and O-rings is recommended either annually or per manufactures requirement.  We do require that you perform preventive maintenance (freshwater rinsing) as outlined in the manufacture’s user manual.

Bring your BCD into Riverside Scuba for an Annual Safety Inspection to check for proper functioning.  We will advise you of any problems that might necessitate an earlier than scheduled service.

Our state of the art Service and Repair Department offers the highest quality diagnostic and repair equipment available.

We accept repairs either in the store or by mail - please call us to arrange shipping. 

Standard BCD service is between 14-21 business days.

BCD INSPECTION

We perform a complete inspection of each BCD and check the following:

  • Inspect Bladder Manufacture Date.
  • Inspect Bladder Condition.
  • Perform Bladder Inflation Test.
  • Perform Bladder Submersion in Water Test.
  • Inspect and Clean Dump Valves. 
  • Disassemble and Inspect Inflator/Deflator, Hose and Assembly.
  • Clean Power Inflator/Deflator, Hose and Assembly.
  • Perform a Comprehensive Leak Test.

COST

$15 BCD Inspection Technician Labor.

$40 BCD Overhaul Only Technician Labor.  Parts Service Kits Not Included.

$20 Standard Power Inflator Only Technician Labor.  Parts Service Kit Not Included.

$65 Alternate Octo/Inflator (Atomic SS1, Gemini Octo, Scuba Pro Air2 etc.) Technician Labor. Service Parts Kit Not Included.
